Construction Safety Consultant

About the Role
As a Construction Safety Consultant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and provide supporting all aspects of health and safety for construction projects and complex operational facilities. You'll promote compliance with client OHS requirements; anticipate and guide risk management processes to protect workers, the public, and operations; work closely with client teams and contractors to support projects; and advise on risk trends and improvement plans.

  • Work Location: Various locations throughout Ontario
  • Position Type: Salary, Full-time
  • Starting Compensation: $75,000 (Associate) to $130,000 (Principal) per annum

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing guidance and expert advice on health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Acting as a key advisor to project teams, anticipating and identifying hazard s and appropriate protective measures.
  • Providing health and safety input to design, planning, constructability and/or operability reviews.
  • Managing and reducing risks to workers and the public within a live and complex operating client site.
  • Undertaking health and safety assurance audits
  • Performing and documenting regular site safety inspections, and facilitating timely corrective actions
  • Assisting with incident and accident investigations.
  • Liaising with client staff and regulatory agencies,
  • Preparing detailed professional reports and records.


What You Need for Success
  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or certification in a construction trade with significant health and safety experience. Field experience in construction or a high hazard operational environment (Minimums: Associate - 1 year, Specialist 3 - years, Principal - 5 years)
  • CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROH designation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety laws.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital health and safety reporting tools (computers, tablets).
  • Hands-on experience with field-level audits and inspections.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written y communication skills.
  • Initiative, ability to multitask, and strong expectation management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and career-oriented mindset.
  • Completion of practical training in key safe work practices (Working at Heights, WHMIS, Ontario 4/5 Steps, LOTO, Confined Spaces, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Security Clearance.
  • Flexibility to night shifts, if required.
  • Valid Class G driver's license.
