This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Quality Manager for our New York, New York office.

Your Impact
  • Oversee overall construction quality compliance identified in the Project Implementation Manual, Construction Contracts, Quality Management Plan(s), and Quality Management Standards. Contract oversight may include traditional design-bid-build, design-build, or any other variety of alternative contract delivery methods the client team deploys.
  • Develop and implement a project-specific Quality Management Manual, for both on-site and off-site work to document that the work and materials conform with the contract plans, specifications, applicable standards, codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Ensure project quality plans are prepared and approved and are being implemented in all aspects of the project delivery from design (on design-build projects) through construction and deployment. Maintain adequate records/documentation throughout.
  • Oversee and audit ongoing contracts to measure overall contract quality health through contract metrics (either predetermined or specifically developed).
    Assist in the development of new quality control processes where needed, in collaboration with the project team.
  • Evaluate and oversee the contractor's/D-B procedures (and their subcontractors) for the management, inspection, testing, certification, record keeping, and auditing of the project.
  • Conduct regular quality compliance audits of contractors, design-builders, Project Management Consultants, and clients to assure the team's compliance with the implementation and efficacy of the Quality Management Manual and to verify that quality activities align with the quality plan and all contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular field visits of contractors or design-builder's construction sites.
  • Conduct and manage oversight and resolution of contractor/equipment deficiencies observed for active contracts.
  • Document any deficiencies or non-conformances through non-conformance reports (NCR), which will outline necessary corrective actions.
  • Prepare project status reports to monitor and document on-going progress and record how adequate progress is being made within the assigned task durations.
  • Attend and document factory and field testing.
  • Familiarity with FTA Quality Management System Guidelines (15 elements of quality)

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in management positions in a production, manufacturing, or construction environment performing QA/QC auditing.
  • Ability to oversee Contractor Quality Management procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated Quality Assurance experience on rail transit projects.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality standards and its application to planning, design, and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in a QA/QC role in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and shall be trained as a Lead Auditor in a Registrar Accreditation Board of the American Society for Quality (RABASQ) approved course on the requirements of ISO 9001.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $97,100 - $198,200
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
