Overview

American Civil Constructors West Coast (ACCW) delivers critical roadway and infrastructure projects for DOT and public works clients nationwide. We are hiring a Project Manager I or II in Benicia, CA, to lead projects end-to-end, from contract strategy and change management to cost, schedule, and field execution.

 

This role is for a driven builder who can manage risk, lead teams, and keep complex projects moving safely, on time, and on budget. Experience with heavy civil construction required, strong Excel skills essential, Primavera P6 preferred.

 

Location & Travel Details: This location-based position encompasses worksites throughout the United States and requires an average of 25% travel. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When overnight travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

 

Responsibilities
  • Contract management from the standpoint of identifying potential change orders, changes in scope, changes in field conditions, changes in ability to perform as bid with means and methods
  • Managing Subcontractor and Vendor relationships including identifying and mitigating potential risk exposure and cost overrun exposure
  • Maintain accurate cost accounting, accurate schedule impacts, accurate and fully authorized change order logs, and accurate and updated communication logs
  • Coordinating & Supervising Varying Work Schedules (for Day/Night Work) and Crew Mobilizations from job to job
  • Working Closely with Project Owners, Prime Contractors, Inspectors, Field Engineers, Field Superintendents and Subcontractors/Suppliers as needed to successfully complete our construction projects 
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Project Manager I

  • Compensation $125,000-$150,000 / year, commensurate with experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.  Other majors may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • 3-5 years of construction-related experience.  A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Project Manager II

  • Compensation $150,000-$170,000 / year, commensurate with experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.  Other majors may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • 5+ years of construction-related experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications
  • Ability to multitask in a challenging construction environment  
  • Excellent computer skills, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Willingness to learn, good organizational and time management skills, ability to work as a team, great communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work without direct supervision 
  • Primavera P6 is highly desired
  • Valid driver's license required
