As a Construction Project Manager, your main focus will be to lead and manage construction projects end-to-end, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in full compliance with company standards, policies, quality requirements, and timelines. You oversee planning, budgeting, contracting, execution, documentation, and collaboration with internal and external partners to secure sustainable, safe, and cost-efficient project outcomes. This on-site role reports into our Construction Manager and is based out of one of our Sales Region locations (New York/LA/Houston/Miami) A Day in the Life Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities* Planning, Budgeting & Pre-Construction 37 Prepare investment project budgets and business cases in line with global Construction Processes37 Conduct site surveys, perform value engineering, and prepare risk analyses to support decision-making37 Develop detailed project plans based on input from internal teams and external consultants, optimizing timelines and reducing installation, labour and related costs37 Align with Leasing and Legal on contractual obligations and project demarcation37 Liaise with consultants and authorities to secure all required permits37 Continuously improve planning and follow-up tools and share best practices across the team37 Apply retro planning using input from other departments and consultants to minimize installation, labor, and other costs Procurement, Contracting & Partner Management 37 Support (Procurements Specialist) with external partners sourcing37 Support the pre-qualification of new contractors to maintain a strong, high-quality supplier base37 Review contracts to ensure all project and country-specific risks are covered and attach execution and payment schedules accordingly37 Ensure all contracts and appendices are approved and signed before any work begin37 Secure contractual obligations through qualitative contract management throughout the project lifecycle37 Ensure country-specific risks are incorporated in contracts and that payment schedules follow legal/market norms37 Ensure that all contracts are stored and signed according to approval rights and governance rules Project Execution, Quality and Health & Safety 37 Secure that stores are designed and built in line with building specifications and interior guidelines37 Follow up on construction progress through site visits and project meetings, ensuring deadlines, quality standards and compliance are met37 Ensure Health & Safety requirements are in place and consistently followed37 Manage change orders, secure transparency in all project finances, and keep the project budget within approved forecasts37 Ensure invoices reflect contractual terms and that landlord contributions are followed up Documentation, Handover & Collaboration 37 Ensure project timelines are accurately updated in LIMA (Planon) to support internal planning and future benchmarking37 Secure complete documentation before, during and after the project, stored according to global guidelines37 Challenge change orders proactively and ensure financial transparency for all projects37 Follow up on payment of landlord contributions to ensure timely reimbursement37 Ensure a structured and qualitative handover to Facility Management37 Proactively share relevant information with other departments in a timely and structured way37 Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams, both giving and requesting feedback to identify improvement opportunities Qualifications Who You Are: 37 Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or similar37 Project Management certifications are meriting37 Supplier and contract management37 Good understanding of the field of construction and the ability to identify risks and opportunities in a retail environment37 Knowledge in MS Office37 Advanced English level37 Previous work experience from retail construction, facility management and/or real estate37 Experience within the project management field37 Experience from managing external suppliers and follow-up on contractual obligations37 Experience from working in a role with several stakeholders37 Work experience in large international organization is meriting37 You are communicative and supportive, with a consultative and creative mindset.
