About the Role The Project Manager / Engineer oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects, serving as a key liaison between office operations and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities - Manage projects from kickoff through completion, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Coordinate job strategies, materials, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors
- Serve as a primary point of communication between office staff, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, address issues, and support field operations
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including budgets, schedules, subcontracts, purchase orders, COIs, lien notices, and submittals
- Maintain accurate and organized project records throughout the project lifecycle
- Support field teams with RFIs, scope changes (extras), and material quantity tracking
- Assist with project financials including subcontractor pay estimates, billings, and cost tracking
- Collaborate with CAD and engineering teams on drawings and project implementation
- Review geotechnical reports and soil borings to support planning and execution
- Evaluate site and soil conditions for piling, drilling, and related work
- Support field implementation of design drawings following project award
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in heavy civil construction (piling, drilling, marine, or bridge work preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and geotechnical reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements - Frequent travel to active construction sites
- Walking on uneven terrain and climbing as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Schedule - Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Occasional Saturdays based on project needs
