Job Summary

Air Systems is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead HVAC, plumbing, architectural sheet metal, and process piping construction projects across commercial and industrial process environments in the San Jose market. This role oversees projects from preconstruction to closeout, collaborating with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
You'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, drive financial performance, support forecasting, and contribute to a collaborative, safety first culture while working across Design Build, Plan & Specification, Design Assist, and IPD delivery models.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial and/or industrial process projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost control
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships through proactive communication and effective problem-solving
  • Translate project scope, schedules, and technical requirements into clear direction for field leadership and subcontractors
  • Develop and manage project financials, including scopes of work, schedules of values, labor budgets, productivity KPIs, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate procurement and equipment planning to align materials, labor, and schedules
  • Participate in monthly financial forecasting and project reviews, identifying risks and opportunities early
  • Support and mentor project engineers and project staff, fostering accountability and team development
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical, schedule, or cost challenges as they arise
  • Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards, contract requirements, and regulatory obligations
  • Uphold Air Systems' safety and quality standards on every project and jobsite


Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a Commercial and/or Industrial Construction Project Engineer required
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC sheet metal, hydronic piping, refrigerant piping, and equipment required
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management, or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; project/accounting software a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Strong client relations skills
  • Ability to work in remote field offices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience with large infrastructure projects is a plus

Competitive Salary

$130,000 - $170,000 per year based on experience.
