About the Role

The Construction Manager is critical to the success of our projects. This role manages all aspects of data center project execution, ensuring safety is paramount while driving schedule, budget and quality objectives in a professional and collaborative manner. This position will report directly to the Project Director.

Main Responsibilities
  • Able to manage multiple data center projects of various sizes at different phases of construction, simultaneously, as assigned.
  • Effectively leads weekly owner, A/E and contractor project meetings. Proactively streamlines breakout meetings to mitigate overlap and optimize stakeholder attendance.
  • Manages the project closeout process and ensures all documentation is received and stored appropriately in Procore.
  • Monitors project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives, ensuring adherence with program and contract requirements.
  • Ability to develop targeted micro-schedules using MS Project, Primavera or similar software to model "what-if" scenarios, analyze the impact of material delays, design changes, or contractor performance to provide leadership with clear, data-driven options for decision-making.
  • Coordinate internal teams with the work of general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify risk, report and resolve issues.
  • Lead site-based project meetings, inspections, and commissioning activities
  • High level understanding of mission-critical systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC systems, automation & controls, fire protection, network and security
  • Manage QA/QC program to ensure compliance with contract documents and internal standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, consultants, designers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction, neighbors and perspective clients.
  • Provide regular progress updates and risk assessments to leadership and the project teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, screen and prioritize communications and opportunities from external and internal sources.
  • Ability to interact with staff, at all levels, in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related construction field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in large-scale construction management, including at least 5 years managing mission-critical or data center projects.
  • 7+ years of experience reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex projects valued at $50M or more, managing multiple contractors and timelines.
  • 5+ years of experience with MEP systems, power distribution, UPS and generator systems, and building automation.
  • 5+ years of experience with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • This is an onsite position with minimal travel required.
