Title:

Construction Manager – Piping & Mechanical (LNG Project)

KBR is looking for a Construction Manager with extensive Piping & Mechanical expertise to support a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. The successful candidate will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of all piping and mechanical construction activities associated with a world-class LNG facility.

This role requires a proven leader with significant experience managing large-scale piping and mechanical installation scopes on LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, or other heavy industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field execution, construction planning, quality assurance, and commissioning support while maintaining the highest standards of safety, productivity, and project performance.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead all piping and mechanical construction activities from installation through commissioning and startup.

  • Manage and coordinate piping and mechanical contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

  • Oversee installation of major process and mechanical equipment, including:

    • LNG process piping systems

    • Cryogenic piping systems

    • Pressure vessels

    • Heat exchangers

    • Compressors

    • Pumps

    • Storage tank mechanical systems

    • Pipe racks and supports

    • Rotating and static equipment

  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Review construction work packages, isometrics, P&IDs, specifications, equipment installation procedures, and testing plans.

  • Oversee hydrotesting, flushing, cleaning, leak testing, mechanical completion, and turnover activities.

  • Monitor project schedules, manpower, productivity, and construction performance.

  • Identify and resolve field issues that could impact safety, quality, schedule, or cost.

  • Participate in constructability reviews and execution planning throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead field inspections, quality audits, and progress reviews.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with all project HSE requirements.

  • Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts, and recovery plans to project leadership.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, including significant responsibility for piping and mechanical scopes on large industrial projects.

  • Demonstrated experience on LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, or power generation projects.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Process and utility piping systems

    • Cryogenic piping installation

    • ASME B31.3 and related piping codes

    • Mechanical equipment installation and alignment

    • Pressure testing and commissioning activities

    • Welding and fabrication processes

    • Quality control and inspection requirements

  • Experience managing large field construction teams and subcontractors.

  • Proven ability to execute complex piping and mechanical scopes safely, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct LNG project experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting greenfield LNG export terminals or liquefaction facilities.

  • Familiarity with modular construction and large equipment setting operations.

  • Working knowledge of API, ASME, and other applicable industry standards.

  • PMP certification is a plus.

  • Experience with turnover, commissioning, startup, and handover processes.

  • Experience on projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost.
