Construction Manager
OnsiteDescription:We are looking for an experienced on-site Construction Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical installation. In this role, you will be responsible for training and mentoring staff, creating work schedules, providing technical assistance, and troubleshooting system issues. You will be supervising a crew of subcontractors, electricians, mechanical, fencing, and general labor on ground-mounted solar farms and acting as the point-of-contact with the customer.
To ensure success as a Construction Manager, you should exhibit strong leadership and planning skills and have sound knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems. A top-class Construction Manager will ensure that all the work done on site is completed on time and to code, requiring the installers to pay attention to detail and adherence to construction drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:- Designing and implementing work schedules for the Subcontractors.
- Inspecting and assessing the work done by the Subcontractors.
- Reading and interpreting design schematics to ensure the proper installation of all systems.
- Keep track of inventory on site, inspect received deliveries and coordinate material purchasing with Management
- Thorough knowledge of NEC and other relevant codes to verify code compliance of installation
- Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions.
- Overseeing the purchasing of the electrical equipment and materials on-site.
- Coordinate with pre-construction team to ensure a smooth handoff, including permits, surveying, site clearing and grading
- Ensuring the work is completed on schedule.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area.
- Consulting with designers, engineers, and workers on site. Submit RFI's to customer
- Oversee mechanical and civil subcontractors
- Train and develop the installation crews, support the company's training of junior engineers and site superintendents
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or a similar field preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Construction Manager.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- In depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with state electrical and safety codes.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- A good eye for detail.
- Travel required 90%+ of time.
