Job Description

Job Summary
Responsible for the overall management of construction activities at a decommissioning site. May have broad supervision responsibilities over large crews or groups of subcontractors or specific responsibilities for specialty work such as rigging, waste handling, etc. Must ensure a productive workforce in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations along with project and company policies and procedures when dealing with radioactive and hazardous material handling, packaging, storage and shipping.

Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development of budgets, business plans and project plans. Participates in the development of resource loaded schedules and directs supervisors and technicians in the implementation of the project plans and schedules.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and requirements, the site license and local rules with respect to construction and refurbishment activities.
  • Serves as manager and technical liaison to subcontractors.
  • Assists and cooperates as necessary during inspections by external regulatory bodies.
  • Manages and serves as liaison with security personnel regarding any changes in physical security.
  • Manages asset recovery program whereby the salvage and recycling of ferrous and nonferrous materials will generate project revenue. Salvage of equipment and machinery for resale following proper inspections and project release is also included within this scope.
  • Assists in the assessment of hazards and development of contingency and emergency plans where necessary.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of employees and subcontractors assigned to the D&D Construction Department.
  • Understands, complies and holds all employees accountable to the project policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for training, supervising and evaluating department staff.
  • Commits to safety being the number one priority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Certifications
  • None required
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of construction management
Preferred Experience
  • 15 years experience in construction management
Required and Desired Skills
  • Well developed interpersonal skills and a record of success working with professional staff and craft personnel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills


Working conditions may be normal for an office environment and will require performance of activities in a construction environment including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection. Working conditions for field personnel may be similar to a construction or demolition site. Position may require occasional weekend and evening work. May be exposed to radiation within occupational limits.

Requirement: Must be able to pass background investigation and must comply with Site Fitness for Duty Program as required by federal regulations.
