As our Construction Inspector - Transportation for our Construction Management team in Santa Ana, you'll play a critical role in supporting project delivery, ensuring construction quality, and contributing to infrastructure projects that impact local communities. What You'll Do
As a Construction Inspector - Transportation, you will support construction projects from initiation through completion, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications while collaborating with project teams and stakeholders.
Construction Inspection & Compliance Perform daily site inspections to verify work complies with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
Project Coordination & Communication Coordinate activities with clients, contractors, consultants, designers, and regulatory agencies to support project progress and compliance.
Documentation & Reporting Prepare daily inspection reports, including detailed documentation and progress photos.
Schedule & Progress Monitoring Review contractor schedules and monitor progress to ensure alignment with project timelines.
Change Management & Cost Support Track potential change order issues, document disputed work, and assist with evaluating and recording changes.
Quantities & Payment Support Assist with monthly pay estimates, including measuring and documenting quantities for completed work.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in bridge, roadway, highway, or related public works construction inspection
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior experience with Caltrans projects
Experience inspecting public works for local agencies, municipalities, or utilities
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
Ability to work on-site in active construction environments, including walking uneven terrain, climbing, and working in varying weather and site conditions
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: Prevailing wage for Santa Ana is $65.96/hour
