Construction Inspector to execute onsite construction inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits.
Responsibilities: General
- Inspect a variety of construction including but not limited to repair of pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plants.
- Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specifications
- Takes samples of materials, prepares test specimens, and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysis
- Checks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work
- Assists PM in review of project submittals, RFI's, and CCO's
- Verifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, and test reports
- Maintains material and inspection records
- Maintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantities
- Other duties as assigned
RequirementsMinimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required
- College degree or minimum 5 years' work experience in related field
- Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver's record are required

- ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspection Certification
- ICC Masonry Inspection Certification
- ICC Welding Inspection Certification
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 Certification

- Fall protection Safety Training
- First Aid & CPR
Minimum Experience Required
- 4 + years of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction work including reading and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications, OR
- 5 years' work experience in related trade/field
Benefits- The typical base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location, hourly wage
