This role will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners to translate strategy and operational activity into measurable financial outcomes.
This is a hybrid position and is located in Peachtree Corners,GA. Position Overview The Finance Business Partner, Construction & Industrial will serve as the primary finance partner for the Construction & Industrial business within Apparatus.
The role will provide financial leadership across planning, forecasting, performance management, pricing, profitability, commercial support, working capital, and risk management. The Finance Business Partner will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other finance and commercial functions to improve transparency, strengthen decision-making, and deliver sustainable business results.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial acumen with practical business judgment and a clear understanding of the commercial and operational drivers of a product- and project-oriented industrial business. This individual must be comfortable working across organizational boundaries, challenging assumptions constructively, and converting complex financial and operational information into actionable recommendations.
In addition to serving as the primary finance partner to the business, this role will provide leadership and development for a Commercial Project Management organization consisting of one CPM Manager and six Commercial Project Managers. The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for building organizational capability, driving performance and accountability, and ensuring consistent execution of commercial governance and project financial management practices across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Business Partnership - Serve as the principal finance partner to the Construction & Industrial business leadership team.
- Develop a strong understanding of the business model, customer segments, market dynamics, product portfolio, channels, and operational value drivers.
- Provide an independent financial perspective on business decisions, opportunities, and risks.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other functions to improve business performance.
- Translate financial and operational information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Constructively challenge business assumptions while supporting timely and fact-based decision-making.
Financial Planning and Performance Management - Lead the forecasting, budgeting, monthly reporting, and long-range planning activities for the assigned business.
- Coordinate financial targets, assumptions, timelines, and deliverables across relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor revenue, orders, backlog, profitability, expenses, productivity, and cash performance.
- Analyze actual results against forecast, budget, prior year, and strategic targets.
- Identify material performance variances and clearly communicate and resolve the underlying drivers.
- Develop and track corrective actions addressing performance gaps.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities and incorporate them into financial outlooks.
- Prepare transparent financial reporting and business-review materials for leadership.
Pricing and Profitability - Support development and execution of pricing strategies across the Construction & Industrial portfolio.
- Analyze product, customer, channel, and market-level profitability.
- Evaluate price realization, material cost developments, discounting, rebates, mix, volume, and productivity impacts.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess customer opportunities and commercial proposals.
- Provide financial analysis supporting price adjustments, portfolio decisions, and margin-improvement initiatives.
- Help establish appropriate financial thresholds and approval processes for nonstandard commercial arrangements.
- Promote disciplined decision-making focused on sustainable revenue quality and profitability.
People Leadership - Lead and develop a team consisting of one CPM Manager and six Commercial Project Managers supporting the Construction & Industrial business.

- Support the evaluation of contract terms, pricing structures, payment conditions, warranties, penalties, and other commercial considerations.
- Coordinate with Commercial Project Management, Contract Management, Legal, Sales, and other stakeholders when evaluating complex transactions.
- Ensure appropriate financial transparency and governance throughout the opportunity and approval process.
- Support claims, dispute, and risk-mitigation activities when required.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable Siemens financial and commercial governance requirements.
Market and Business Analysis - Develop financial insights regarding construction and industrial market trends, customer demand, channel performance, and competitive activity.
- Support segmentation analysis across customers, vertical markets, products, geographies, and sales channels.
- Evaluate growth opportunities and identify the financial and operational requirements needed to execute them.
- Support development of strategic plans, scenario analyses, and sensitivity models.
- Assess the potential financial impact of changes in market demand, material costs, supply availability, capacity, and customer behavior.
- Provide recommendations that balance near-term performance with long-term market development.
Cash Flow and Working Capital - Support initiatives that improve operating cash flow and working-capital performance.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve inventory, receivables, payment terms, and cash-conversion performance.
- Monitor overdue receivables, customer payment behavior, inventory exposure, and other relevant working-capital drivers.
- Identify structural causes of cash or working-capital performance gaps and develop improvement actions.
- Promote consideration of cash and capital efficiency in commercial and operational decision-making.
Risk Management and Governance - Identify financial, commercial, operational, contractual, and market-related risks.
- Establish appropriate financial transparency for risks and opportunities.
- Develop mitigation actions in partnership with business and functional leaders.
- Support effective internal controls, compliance, approval processes, and documentation.
- Monitor execution of agreed risk-mitigation measures and escalate significant issues when appropriate.

Investment and Business-Case Evaluation - Develop and review financial business cases for growth initiatives, capacity investments, new products, channel development, and operational improvements.
- Apply appropriate financial evaluation methodologies, including return on investment, net present value, internal rate of return, and payback analysis.
- Challenge key assumptions involving market demand, pricing, volume, cost, timing, resources, and execution risk.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to clarify potential outcomes and decision risks.
- Track approved initiatives against their original business cases and expected financial benefits.
- Provide recommendations to leadership based on financial value, strategic fit, risk, and execution feasibility.
Process Improvement and Financial Transparency - Improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of financial planning and reporting processes.
- Standardize recurring analyses, performance measures, and management reporting where appropriate.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Several years of progressive experience in finance, controlling, financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a finance partner to business or functional leaders.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing finance, commercial finance, or Commercial Project Management professionals.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance management.
- Experience analyzing revenue, profitability, pricing, cost, productivity, and cash-flow drivers.
- Ability to develop financial models, business cases, scenario analyses, and decision-support materials.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify the business drivers behind financial results.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications - MBA, master's degree, or relevant professional certification such as CPA or CMA.
- Experience supporting an industrial, manufacturing, electrical products, infrastructure, construction, or project-oriented business.
- Experience leading Commercial Project Management teams within an industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, or project-based business environment.
- Knowledge of construction markets, industrial customers, distribution channels, contractors, or electrical infrastructure.
- Experience with pricing, product profitability, customer profitability, and commercial-decision support.
- Familiarity with contract structures, commercial risk assessment, and project financial management.
- Experience using SAP, Power BI, or comparable enterprise reporting and analytical platforms.
