Help deliver the controls infrastructure that enables safe, reliable high-performance computing at scale. As the Construction Electrical Supervisor - Controls, you will lead field supervision and integration of PLC control systems, fire alarm, and SCADA across an air-cooled HPC data center campus. You will review design documentation, coordinate interfaces among electrical, mechanical, life-safety, controls, network, commissioning, and operations teams, and direct specialty contractors through installation, programming support, testing, and turnover. Your leadership will ensure that controls and monitoring systems function as designed and support safe, resilient, and maintainable facility operations.

Job requirements

• Journeyman Electrican License.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent electrical or controls field experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical or controls construction experience, including field supervision of complex automation and life-safety scopes, preferably in mission-critical, industrial, or data center environments.
• Strong working knowledge of PLC and SCADA architectures, control panels, instrumentation, input/output systems, field devices, controls networks, and fire alarm interfaces.
• Ability to review electrical one-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, risers, panel schedules, control narratives, sequences of operation, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O and points lists, network diagrams, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating industrial communications and controls networks using common protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet/IP, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, or comparable open and vendor-specific protocols.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 72, OSHA requirements, firestopping, grounding and bonding, applicable local codes, and manufacturer requirements for fire alarm and control-system installation.
• Experience planning and witnessing factory and site acceptance testing, loop checks, point-to-point verification, device calibration, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple contractors and manage manpower, schedules, material deliveries, RFIs, change orders, quality, testing, deficiencies, and turnover commitments.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience delivering controls and life-safety systems for hyperscale, AI, or HPC data centers, particularly air-cooled facilities and work adjacent to live mission-critical systems.
• Experience integrating switchgear, generators, ATS equipment, UPS systems, power monitoring, air-handling and cooling equipment, fire alarm, BMS/EPMS, PLC controls, and SCADA platforms.
• Familiarity with major PLC, fire alarm, and SCADA vendors; redundant controls networks; time synchronization; historian and alarm management; software backups; and cybersecurity coordination.
• NICET Fire Alarm Systems, ISA CCST, PMP, OSHA 30, electrical license, or comparable controls, fire alarm, construction, or safety certification.

Other important requirements:

• Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
• Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
• Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
• Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
• Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.

Job responsibilities

• Lead field planning, execution, integration, testing, and turnover of PLC control systems, fire alarm, SCADA, and associated electrical controls infrastructure for the HPC data center project.
• Direct controls, fire alarm, electrical, and specialty contractors; establish daily priorities and hold teams accountable for safety, manpower, productivity, schedule, workmanship, testing, and closeout commitments.
• Review design drawings, specifications, control narratives, sequences of operation, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O and points lists, network architecture, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, method statements, and test plans for constructability, completeness, and compliance.
• Identify missing scope, conflicting requirements, incomplete sequences, and interface gaps; coordinate timely resolution with engineering, construction, vendors, commissioning, and operations before they affect field execution.
• Maintain an interface matrix for PLC, SCADA, fire alarm, BMS, EPMS, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, packaged controls, and network systems, with clear ownership for power, wiring, communications, programming, graphics, alarms, testing, and turnover.
• Oversee installation of control panels, enclosures, raceways, power and control cabling, fiber and copper communications, instrumentation, fire alarm devices and modules, network equipment, grounding, bonding, labeling, and required penetrations.
• Coordinate development and validation of I/O databases, SCADA tags, point lists, alarm priorities, graphics, trends, setpoints, user access, network addressing, time synchronization, software revisions, and system backups.
• Verify that sequences, permissives, interlocks, shutdowns, and cause-and-effect logic are implemented as approved, while preserving the required authority, listing, and code compliance of the fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Enforce controls quality requirements for cable separation, shielding, grounding, terminations, polarity, device addressing, calibration, labeling, firestopping, network installation, panel workmanship, and redline accuracy.
• Plan, coordinate, and witness factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, loop checks, point-to-point verification, communications testing, failover testing, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing; drive deficiencies to closure.
• Manage look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, procurement and delivery of long-lead controls materials, progress quantities, risk and change logs, outage or energization constraints, and contractor payment validation.
• Drive complete turnover documentation, including approved as-builts, final control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O and points databases, software and configuration backups, test reports, device records, warranties, licenses, O&M information, training, and spares.

Compensation

• The expected hourly rate for this role starts at $59.00 U SD.
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
• Per Diem amount of $180.00 and project allowance, when applicable
• 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
• Overtime compensation for non-exempt workers for hours worked over 40 per week
• Relocation and Living-out-allowance (as applicable and based on successful candidate circumstances)
