Duties

Help

• Performs constructability reviews and collaborates with consultants, architects, engineers, and estimators.
• Monitors and inspects contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Reviews construction specifications and contract documents.
• Serves as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).
• Investigates and analyzes contract changes.

• Physical Demands: Work requires regular visits to construction sites involving standing, walking over rough surfaces, climbing, and lifting of testing equipment up to 44 pounds.
• Work Environment: Work involves regular exposure to construction site hazards including noise, dust, and weather conditions. Requires protective equipment and continuous attention to safety precautions.

To qualify for the Construction Control Representative, PG -0809-13, you must meet the following requirements:

This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR):

Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of craftsperson, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications.

Specialized Experience: In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirement applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level PG-12 (or equivalent) level. Qualifying specialized experience is described as: 1) analyzing construction regulations, policies, quality assurance, and developing solutions; 2) inspecting complex/critical infrastructure plan requirements, materials, and equipment; and 3) managing and coordinating all construction workloads and advising management and stakeholders of findings.

Background Investigation:

For a Secret Clearance:

To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Secret clearance. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.

The selectee will work shift 1 Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..

May be subject to occasional overtime.
