The opportunity

At BPA, we value hands-on experience and professionals who understand how construction really works on site. As a Construction Administrator with a background in mechanical or electrical systems and strong project management skills, you will play a key role in coordinating and monitoring construction activities, collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and trades, and helping ensure that the work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements. Acting as a critical liaison between project teams, you will support project planning, execution, and communication, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects throughout the Ottawa region.

Your daily impact
  • Ensure the execution of medium- to large-scale work and compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits, prepare site report and site instructions for contractors, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Follow up with the contractor on drawing markups for the preparation of as-built drawings.
  • Monitor schedules and attend site meetings.
  • Verify work progress against drawings and specifications.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and provide expertise in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Analyze and negotiate change order pricing with contractors.

Your profile
  • Completion of a technical diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of applicable Ontario codes and standards.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, and access to a vehicle.
  • Excellent communications skills in English, verbal and written. French is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Versatility, autonomy and proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong skills in report writing and experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Hourly salary range: $41 - $51per hour, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of the role, and geographic location.
