Data Managers assist and support the Project team in planning, preparing, organizing, controlling, and submitting contractually required data, as well as manage the release and control of a wide variety of program related documentation. The work is guided by Data Management policies and procedures, and under the direction of the designated Configuration/Data Management (CDM) Lead or a more senior Data Manager. This fast-paced role is vital to the performance of a program throughout its lifecycle. This position entails:
- Exercising discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties.

- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Exhibiting sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
- Utilizing computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
- Making decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Analyzing, evaluating, developing and implementing processes and systems within budget and adhering to schedules/deadlines.
Essential Functions of a Senior Data Manager are:
- Following systems necessary to ensure that assigned, required data is compiled, prepared, reviewed, approved, published and submitted to or received from the customer in quality form, on time, and within budget.
- Contributing to a configuration/data management plan, when required, to define and provide an integrated system for the analysis, planning, monitoring, storage and retrieval, status reporting, receipt and submission of data required on a program.
- Implementing processes and procedures necessary for the generation of data items and monitors compliance with the Contract Deliverable Requirement List (CDRL) and Data Item Description (DID) requirements.
- Ensuring the establishment and maintenance of project level control of master files for all data in accordance with a Configuration/Data Management Plan.
- Reviewing all deliverable data for conformance to customer requirements and coordinates this effort with the originating function.
- Analyzing requirements of contractual data to establish and/or provide direction to preparing groups.
- Establishing program milestone targets for each data element and develops methods/procedures of reporting progress against these milestones.
- Maintaining knowledge of Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), applicable military and industry standards, BAE Systems command media, and Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs).
- Preparing reports/briefings for program management as required for presenting status during program meetings.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 4 years of Data Management or related experience with degree.
- Minimum 8 years of Data Management or related experience without degree.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
- Active Secret Clearance
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders from different disciplines to drive tasks to closure
- Ability to work independently, operate within time and cost constraints, and serve as a representative of the role within program teams
- Experience with reading through and understanding contractual documentation and generating a delivery requirements schedule.
Preferred Skills and Education- Active Top Secret clearance
- Experience working with government contracts in closed and/or Special Access Programs
- Experience with computer applications (MS Word & Excel), databases, operating systems, and hardware
- Experience working with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
