Full Job Description
As a Comptroller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial activities and operations of our franchise. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles and practices. This position requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Provide timely and accurate financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and variances from budget.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management and department heads.

- Monitor budget performance and provide proactive recommendations to optimize financial performance.

3. Cash Management:

- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimize investment opportunities.

- Oversee banking relationships and monitor banking activities, including reconciliations and fund transfers.

4. Internal Controls and Compliance:

- Establish and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Conduct periodic internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.

5. Tax Planning and Compliance:

- Coordinate with external tax advisors to develop tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

- Prepare and review tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax filings.

6. Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including investment evaluation, pricing analysis, and profitability assessment.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate business initiatives and assess their financial impact.

7. Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

- Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with a focus on financial management and reporting.

- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.

- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
