Position Summary

The Comprehensive Health Promotion (CHP) Coordinator supports the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion programs across the lifespan. Reporting to the Manager of CHP, the role strengthens program quality, supports staff performance, and ensures activities align with organizational policies, legislative requirements, and the Ontario Public Health Standards. The Coordinator serves internal staff, community partners, and the public by advancing evidence-informed practice and ensuring programs reflect diverse community needs. Through collaboration, supervision, and continuous improvement, the role drives high-quality health promotion outcomes and supports departmental accountability.

• Ensure the consistent, high-quality delivery of CHP programs through effective supervision, guidance, and performance support of staff.
• Improve program effectiveness by applying evidence, analyzing program data, and implementing quality assurance processes.
• Strengthen collaboration with community partners and stakeholders to advance coordinated health promotion initiatives.
• Support compliance with public health legislation, organizational policies, and the Ontario Public Health Standards across all CHP activities.
• Advance equity-focused and culturally appropriate program planning and service delivery.
• Enhance public understanding of health promotion initiatives through accurate, accessible communication and resource development.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and support CHP staff to ensure consistent program delivery and adherence to standards.
• Evaluate program activities and processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, documentation systems, and workflow enhancements.
• Support the creation of program plans, interventions, and evidence-informed practices.
• Assist with drafting and updating policies, procedures, reports, and program documentation.
• Liaise with community partners and stakeholders to advance collaborative health promotion initiatives.
• Participate on internal and external committees, working groups, and project teams.
• Respond to public and partner inquiries related to CHP programs and services.
• Review educational resources to ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and accessibility.
• Prepare reports and proposals that summarize data, findings, and program outcomes.
• Apply conflict management, group facilitation, and communication strategies in team and partner interactions.
• Promote equity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusive approaches throughout all CHP activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health promotion, health sciences, or a related field from an accredited school or other relevant degree to position.
• Minimum 5 years previous experience working in public health, community health or area related to the areas of mental health, food security, healthy relationships, and healthy growth and development.

Preferred

• Previous supervisory experience an asset.
• Training and/or certification in project management

Wage Grid:

$45.40 - $50.45 hourly

This position includes the option of hybrid work, whereby employees may be able to work remotely or from the office, based on departmental needs, job duties and personal work preferences. The successful candidate must reside within the province of Ontario and must be available to attend the office upon request.
