About the role

The Compliance Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for managing key Ethics & Compliance program processes, initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. Reporting to the Vice President, Ethics & Compliance, the role supports the design, implementation, measurement, and ongoing evolution of the Company's Ethics & Compliance Program. The Compliance Specialist leads projects, coordinates cross-functional stakeholders, and drives execution of significant compliance program activities.

The Compliance Specialist has broad exposure across policy governance, conflict of interest and gifts and hospitality register management, training and communications, compliance monitoring, third-party compliance, risk management, metrics and reporting, and technology-enabled compliance solutions. The position does not include responsibility for conducting internal investigations, which are managed separately within the department.

What you'll be doing

• Administer conflict of interest and gifts and hospitality disclosure workflows
• Review submissions, coordinate approvals, maintain records, monitor trends, and recommend process improvements
• Conduct testing and monitoring activities designed to evaluate program effectiveness and policy compliance.
• Develop key performance indicators, dashboards, scorecards, and management reports.
• Monitor implementation of recommendations arising from Ethics & Compliance investigations.
• Analyse survey results and other metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and coordinate ethics and compliance communications, awareness campaigns, newsletters, manager resources, training content, facilitator materials, and culture-building initiatives.
• Conduct employee focus groups, facilitate live training sessions, and periodically travel to company properties to assess culture and program effectiveness.
• Own policy lifecycle processes including drafting, editing, stakeholder review, approvals, publication, maintenance, benchmarking, and periodic reviews.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen policies and procedures based on emerging risks, regulatory developments, lessons learned, recommendations resulting from Ethics & Compliance investigations, and best practices.
• Leverage Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and related technologies to improve compliance operations
• Support development and governance of AI-enabled workflows and agents using Copilot Studio or similar platforms. Lead special projects and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Who we're looking for

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, compliance, legal studies, public policy, communications, or related discipline preferred 1-3 years of maintenance experience
• Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in ethics and compliance, corporate compliance, risk management, internal audit, governance, legal operations, or a related function.
• Strong understanding of corporate compliance program elements, including policy governance, training, communications, compliance monitoring, and program effectiveness.
• Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, confidently, and persuasively in writing and verbally to diverse audiences; strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot. Experience with Power BI, Smartsheet, workflow automation tools, and data analysis.
• Experience using generative AI tools required; experience creating, configuring, or managing AI agents using Copilot Studio or comparable platforms strongly preferred.
• High ethical standards, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to conduct in-person focus groups, facilitate training sessions, and travel to company locations, conferences, and corporate offices as required.
• Valid, state-issued driver's license with a safe driving record is required.

Typical Physical Demands:

Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, supplies, and office equipment. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50-75 lbs.

Typical Work Conditions: Work is performed in and outside a maintenance/machinery environment and in and outside residential properties. Employee frequently interacts directly with residents, maintenance, and communities' staff during the workday.

Pay Rate: $85,000 yr. - $100,000 yr.
