Livewell Health Pharmacy is a high growth independent online pharmacy based in North York, Ontario. We are focused on providing safe, stigma free patient-centered care for all Canadians.

The Role

We're looking for a Staff Pharmacist to support Pharmacy Compliance activities at our Ontario pharmacy. In this role, you'll be responsible to ensure compliance with the regulations of Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) as a backup Designated Manager and step in as needed to ensure uninterrupted regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence when the primary Designated Manager is unavailable.

This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and deeply knowledgeable about Ontario pharmacy regulations.

What You'll Do

Regulatory & Compliance
  • Act as the Designated Manager during periods when the primary DM is unavailable
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulations including:
    • Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) requirements
    • National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) requirements
    • Pharmacy Act, 1991 and RHPA
    • Controlled Drugs and Substances legislation as applicable
  • Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries
  • Ensure accurate documentation, incident reporting, and record retention
  • Ensure safe dispensing practices and appropriate pharmacist oversight
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, reconciliation, and security of controlled substances as applicable
  • Enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Provide practice oversight to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff
  • Ensure team members practice within scope and meet regulatory and company standards
  • Address practice concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary

Quality & Patient Safety
  • Champion a culture of patient safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
  • Support investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions related to incidents or errors
  • Support compliant investigations and reporting
  • Support management of regulatory inquiries in collaboration with legal

Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate clearly with the primary Designated Manager and pharmacy leadership
  • Liaise with regulators, inspectors, the legal team and internal partners as required
  • Escalate compliance risks or concerns in a timely manner
  • Fill in as needed to cover operational roles in dispensing


Who You Are
  • A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Eligible and willing to be a Designated Manager (Backup) with OCP
  • Deeply familiar with Ontario pharmacy legislation and standards of practice
  • Comfortable assuming accountability for pharmacy compliance when required
  • Organized, dependable, and able to make sound decisions independently
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience as a Designated Manager, Relief DM, or Assistant DM
  • Experience in mail-order, specialty, or technology-enabled pharmacy settings
  • Experience working in a regulated, fast-growth healthcare environment
