Full Job Description
As our Compliance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating Kempower's North American expansion by leading the certification, testing, and regulatory alignment of our world-class DC fast-charging technology. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge Finnish engineering and strict North American safety standards, ensuring our products are fully compliant, highly reliable, and ready to power the electric vehicle evolution.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to design and analyze test cases for Kempower products, prioritizing high quality standards and product consistency
  • Lead projects to adopt UL and CSA certification standards to ensure compliance within the North American market
  • Manage test plans for high voltage electric vehicle charging equipment to meet safety, EMC, and environmental standards
  • Ensure that our products meet all necessary national and international compliance requirements, industry standards, and regulations
  • Lead product compliance and certification between Kempower and chosen Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs)
  • Work with cross functional teams to standardize quality standards and processes for all products; consolidating and streamlining existing processes and systems
  • Select and design critical power electronic components such as cables, relays, and protection devices that meet safety, functional, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with the evaluation and analysis of electrical system design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessments

WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering is preferred
  • 4 years of relevant experience including report writing, product testing and analysis, and compliance procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of government programs including CTEP/NEVI that support the electrification industry

COMPENSATION & LOCATION
  • Base Salary Range: $90,000-100,000. Our compensation philosophy is to provide a competitive salary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
  • Annual Bonus: 7.5%
  • Location: USA / Durham, NC - Hybrid
