The complexity of healthcare regulatory requirements and the activities this position is responsible for requires a high degree of critical thinking and independent decision-making, as well as, knowledge about the business functions and compliance activities he/she is responsible for. This position's specific duties include monitoring, researching, interpreting and assessing regulatory risks and providing support, recommendations and guidance to organizational leaders and staff. The position is also responsible for conducting internal compliance investigations which could include auditing, fact finding, interviewing, analyzing data or information and preparing investigation documentation. The workload requires the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and stay organized. It also requires attention to detail and leading through difficult situations and exhibiting both effective written and verbal communication skills. Other duties as assigned.
This position is to support Privacy Compliance. Ideal candidates have Privacy background, or some other background like clinical leadership, HR, Compliance Investigations, or quality.EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of five years of healthcare related experience is required. 3+ years of additional experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, leadership, quality or process improvement, project management, auditing, or human resources is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or other relevant field is required. Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Required competencies: Self directed worker who can effectively manage large projects and multiple priorities. Demonstrate critical thinking, exceptional oral/written communication skills and the ability to research and assess complex regulations and other requirements. Medical terminology, medical environment exposure, auditing, project management or experience with an electronic medical records is preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) preferred.
