Full Job Description
The Complex Claims Manager manages complex Construction Defect claims processes, including investigating, evaluating, and resolving high-severity claims in compliance with company standards and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. • Investigate, assess, and resolve complex or high-exposure Construction Defect claims within authority limits. • Conduct comprehensive coverage analysis and determine liability exposure. • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and in alignment with organizational objectives. • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical expertise to less experienced claims staff. • Collaborate with legal counsel, brokers, and insured clients to ensure proper claim resolution. • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. • Prepare and present reports on claim status, trends, and risk exposure to management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field. • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in claims handling Complex Construction Defect claims. • Prior experience managing complex or high-severity claims preferred. • Experience with litigation management and settlement negotiation. CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS • Adjuster license as required by jurisdiction. • Industry certifications such as CPCU or AIC preferred but not mandatory. FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Advanced knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and claims processes. • Proficiency in claims management systems and related technology tools. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating complex claim scenarios. • Effective negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines under pressure.
