Hiring Salary Range: $89,250.00-115,500.00 / year



Job Function:

Hydro One is seeking an experienced Compensation Specialist with proven contributions in compensation management, job evaluation, and compliance and reporting. We're looking for a strong collaborator with effective organizational skills, attention to detail, a thorough understanding of equity compensation plans, and experience/familiarity with equity management platforms and regulatory policies and procedures. The role administers employee equity programs, focusing on restricted shares units and employee share purchase plans, supports employees and partners with information about share plans and equity resources and builds and maintains effective relationships with partners across the organization. The role also develops and maintains compensation structures aligned with business goals and market competitiveness. The role conducts job evaluations, job matching, and market pricing using salary surveys and benchmarking tools, analyzes compensation trends, and provides recommendations to support retention, performance, and equity. Additionally, the role develops reports, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making, monitors market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in total rewards, and ensures compliance with pay equity, pay transparency, and applicable employment legislation. The ideal candidate will have highly developed interpersonal, customer and partnering skills along with effective communication, discretion, and problem-solving abilities.

General Accountabilities:
  • Analysis & Research: Conduct market trend analysis, salary surveys, and cost analysis to benchmark compensation/benefits against competitors.
  • Program Design: Develop and implement salary structures, job grades, and incentive plans.
  • Job Evaluation: Evaluate job descriptions to determine classification, exempt/non-exempt status, and salary levels.
  • Consultation: Advise HR Business Partners and managers on compensation-related issues and policy interpretation.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local wage/hour laws.
  • Administration: Manage compensation data, process pay transactions, and support benefits enrollment.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and provide data for executive review and strategic planning.
