General Summary:

Join Qualcomm's Compensation team and help support the company's growth through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives. While the primary focus of this role is M&A-related compensation work, this is also an opportunity to gain exposure across the broader compensation spectrum based on team priorities and bandwidth. The ideal candidate will be open to learning across multiple areas of compensation, partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, and contributing to programs that support Qualcomm's global workforce.

**Position requires to be onsite in San Diego, full time**

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Compensation Analyst, Staff supports Qualcomm's mergers and acquisitions activities as the primary area of responsibility while also contributing to broader Compensation initiatives as team bandwidth and business priorities allow. The role manages compensation workstreams across the transaction lifecycle, from transaction assessment and due diligence through integration planning, onboarding, and employee transition activities, while also building depth across core compensation programs and processes.

Partnering closely with HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, Corporate Development, and business leaders, the incumbent evaluates compensation programs, develops recommendations, and supports acquisition-related decisions. Beyond M&A, the role will participate in a mix of compensation activities such as annual compensation planning, retention initiatives, executive compensation support, job architecture, compensation governance, market analysis, and other projects that broaden the incumbent's understanding of Qualcomm's compensation practices.

Operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, the incumbent manages multiple concurrent transactions and projects while delivering timely, data-driven analyses, recommendations, and execution support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage compensation workstreams across mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business initiatives as the primary area of responsibility.
  • Support compensation due diligence, integration planning, employee onboarding, and transition activities for assigned transactions.
  • Analyze compensation, incentive, equity, benefits, and retention programs and develop recommendations that support transaction and broader business objectives.
  • Develop title mapping, leveling, and compensation placement recommendations for leadership review and approval.
  • Contribute to annual compensation planning activities, including data analysis, planning support, exception review, and communications support.
  • Support market pricing, job architecture, leveling, and compensation governance projects that strengthen compensation program design and administration.
  • Assist with retention, executive compensation, equity, and other compensation initiatives based on business needs and team bandwidth.
  • Prepare executive-ready analyses, dashboards, presentations, and decision materials for senior leader review.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, Corporate Development, and business leaders to support compensation-related decisions and implementation activities.
  • Develop tools, templates, and processes that improve operational efficiency, consistency, and project execution across compensation workstreams.
  • Manage external consultants and vendors supporting compensation projects.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, flexibility, and willingness to learn across the full spectrum of compensation.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
  • 7+ years of Compensation work experience.
  • 5+ years of utilizing Compensation-related systems/tools (e.g., Advanced Excel, Workday, Tech Industry Surveys, etc.).
  • 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Director level and above).
  • 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequently transports and install equipment up to 5 lbs.
  • Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
  • Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Compensation, Human Resources, Finance, or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 7+ years of Compensation, Human Resources, Finance, or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of Compensation, Human Resources, Finance, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$128,000.00 - $192,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
