ResponsibilitiesThe Position:The Compensation Analyst I supports and helps modernize the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs. This role contributes to compensation processes through rigorous data analysis, accurate execution, and informed recommendations that support business and HR decision-making. Working under general guidance, the analyst applies independent judgment to analyze compensation data, evaluate market competitiveness, and ensure effective delivery of core and ad hoc compensation programs across multiple geographies.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES1. Compensation Program Administration & Execution (35%)- Support and help modernize the administration of global base pay, incentive, and recognition programs.
- Participate in annual and ad hoc compensation surveys, including managing submissions, conducting validations, and resolving data discrepancies.
- Prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as merit budgets, bonus plans, or other compensation-related programs.
- Maintain and administer the compensation data management platform, including data preparation, uploads, validations, and testing cycles.
- Support sales incentive compensation management through data preparation, validation, and calculation support.
- Participate in annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, and other programs), including system configuration, testing, and audit validation.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within compensation systems and supporting datasets.
- Prepare and validate data files, conduct audit checks, and resolve discrepancies to ensure smooth execution of compensation processes.
- Provide day-to-day compensation guidance to HRBPs and managers, supported by data analysis and internal equity considerations.
2. Market Analysis & Competitive Benchmarking (20%)- Conduct compensation benchmarking using external survey data (e.g., Radford, Mercer).
- Analyze market data and internal compensation data to assess competitiveness of pay ranges and programs.
- Support development and maintenance of salary structures, including modeling and analysis of market positioning.
- Prepare analyses and recommendations on merit budgets, geographic differentials, and compensation trends.
- Synthesize survey data and internal workforce data to inform decision-making and recommendations.
3. Reporting & Decision Support (20%)- Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc compensation reports.
- Analyze compensation metrics (e.g., compa-ratios, range penetration, pay distribution) to identify trends and insights.
- Create data summaries, visualizations, and presentations to support HR and business leaders.
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making at both operational and leadership levels.
- Support development of business cases, including cost modeling and scenario analysis.
4. Job Evaluation & Organizational Analysis (15%)- Review job descriptions and evaluate roles to support appropriate job leveling, classification (where appropriate), and compensation alignment.
- Analyze job content, organizational structure, and compensation data to ensure internal equity and consistency.
- Partner with HRBPs to assess job changes and organizational shifts, providing data-informed recommendations.
- Support job architecture maintenance through analysis of roles, levels, and compensation relationships.
5. Compliance & Governance (10%)- Support compliance with compensation-related regulations (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency requirements).
- Conduct data reviews and analyses to identify potential compliance or equity risks.
- Assist in audits and documentation of compensation decisions and processes.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, guidelines, and governance frameworks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & CAPABILITIESCompensation & HR Expertise- Foundational knowledge of compensation principles, including salary structures, benchmarking, and pay-for-performance
- Exposure to job evaluation and internal equity concepts
- Exposure to global compensation practices preferred
- Basic knowledge of FLSA requirements for job classification preferred
Analytical & Technical Capability- Demonstrated, advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation, modeling)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams), including Copilot, and the ability to apply these tools effectively
- Proven experience developing data-driven insights through reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret large datasets with attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and insights within compensation data
- Proven ability to leverage Artificial Intelligence to help automate processes and reduce administrative work, and develop insights to inform critical business decisions
- Preferred experience with programming and query languages such as Python and/or SQL.
- Preferred experience with Workday (HRIS, compensation, reporting) and ServiceNow.
Problem Solving & Execution- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to exercise discretion in interpreting data and drawing conclusions
- Ability to independently analyze moderately complex issues and recommend data-informed solutions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and process accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines
Communication & Business Partnership- Ability to communicate compensation concepts and data insights in clear, business-relevant terms
- Effective collaboration with HRBPs, Finance, and business leaders
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining complex data and insights to diverse stakeholders
The wage range of $77,000 - $130,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives (please also ensure to include a full list of "other forms of compensation" applicable to any posting too, and this would include GEB, NQDC, commissions, profit-sharing, as just some illustrative examples).
What We're Looking For:- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field, or 4 years relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- 2+ years of experience in compensation, HR analytics, or related analytical role.
- CCP coursework or interest preferred.
