Full Job Description

Reporting to the Compensation Operations Manager, the Compensation Analyst will provide cross-organizational compensation support across the Leidos enterprise. This role independently evaluates moderately complex compensation matters, applies compensation principles, policies, and regulatory requirements, and provides data driven guidance and recommendations to Total Rewards Partners, HR, and business stakeholders.

The Compensation Analyst will serve as a compensation resource on recurring and ad hoc matters, including job and pay actions, incentive payments, job evaluation and FLSA classification, market analysis, and enterprise compensation initiatives. This role requires strong analytical judgment, technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to translate compensation data into clear insights and recommendations.

The role is highly collaborative and requires effective communication and partnership across the Total Rewards team and broader HR community.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Total Rewards Partners and HR stakeholders to provide compensation guidance and recommendations consistent with compensation philosophy, policies, market practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide cross-organizational compensation support across multiple Sectors and Functions, balancing business needs with enterprise compensation practices and internal equity.
  • Independently evaluate and approve promotions, job changes, salary adjustments, and other compensation actions using sound compensation judgment and established review frameworks.
  • Evaluate and approve bonus and incentive payments for compliance, reasonableness, internal consistency, and program requirements; identify and escalate exceptions or potential risks as appropriate.
  • Evaluate jobs and employee responsibilities to support job family, career level, FLSA classification, and compensation determinations, and provide appropriate salary recommendations.
  • Conduct market pricing and compensation analyses using salary survey data and internal employee data to identify trends, outliers, pay relationships, and potential compensation issues and develop recommendations.
  • Develop compensation models, analyses, dashboards, and recurring and ad hoc reporting to support compensation decisions and enterprise initiatives.
  • Support annual compensation programs and enterprise-wide compensation projects, including analysis, system testing, reporting, implementation, and ongoing process support.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve compensation processes, controls, tools, and reporting; recommend and support implementation of process improvements.
  • Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong customer service within the Compensation function
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the enterprise goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of relevant experience in Compensation, Human Resources, or a related field; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation principles and practices, including base pay, job evaluation, market pricing, salary structures, and incentive compensation.
  • Working knowledge of FLSA requirements and experience evaluating exempt and nonexempt classifications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience analyzing large data sets, developing models, and utilizing advanced formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and other analytical functionality.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualizations to identify trends and communicate meaningful business insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and develop recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate compensation concepts and complex data into clear, concise information for HR and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, risks, and data quality issues.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Compensation and Workday Advanced Compensation, including compensation processes, reporting, and/or annual compensation programs.
  • Experience with compensation survey and market-pricing platforms.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar dashboard and data visualization tools.
  • Experience supporting large, complex, geographically dispersed, or matrixed organizations.
  • Experience in the government contracting industry.

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
