Summary

The Compensation Analyst, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, under the direction of the Sr Manager Compensation, performs a variety of duties to support the Firm’s compensation initiatives. Assists in administering competitive compensation programs that supports the attraction and retention of qualified candidates. Administers maintenance of job descriptions, benchmarks jobs to the market and work with the Talent Acquisition team and local managers to recommend competitive salaries. Completes salary surveys and conduct an annual market analysis to ensure the Firm’s competitive position in the marketplace. Provides support to the Director Lawyer Compensation as needed.

Location

This position can sit in our Raleigh, Baltimore, Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, Short Hills, or Washington DC office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with managers revising existing and new job descriptions to accurately reflect current roles, responsibilities, and requirements; maintains the job description database.

  • Participates in and completes various annual salary surveys by matching Firm and benchmark positions; uses published and online surveys to obtain and analyze market pay rates to ensure competitive external and internal equity; manages compensation data and market survey sources through PayScale.

  • Works with the HRMS team to ensure data integrity in HRIS, including updating job codes, markets, salary ranges, grades, and position competencies; plays an integral role in compensation administration in Workday.

  • Compiles and provides compensation reports to Talent Acquisition, Finance, Talent Development, Payroll, and other stakeholders as needed.

  • Processes promotions, offcycle adjustments, spot recognition, and retention bonuses through AskHR and Payroll.

  • Provides support to the Senior Manager, Compensation, during annual bonus and merit forecast planning processes.

  • Manages the firm’s recognition awards platform for business professionals to incentivize demonstrations of firm values.

  • Assists the Director of Lawyer Compensation with tracking and processing attorney offer letters, researching market data for attorney and lawyerequivalent positions, and updating attorney status changes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Firm’s total rewards initiatives.

Desired Skills

Must have strong knowledge in compensation laws and regulations, ability to manage large volumes of data and report findings in a clear and concise manner and proficient computer skills in Excel are required. Experience with Workday’s human capital management system and compensation module is preferred. Must have working knowledge of compensation principles, program practices, methodologies and strategies. Ability to analyze and interpret policies, practices and procedures. Ability to use computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field strongly preferred.

Certificates

  • Certified Compensation Professional certification is beneficial for this position.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 5 years’ compensation experience with specific experience in documenting job details, analyzing market data and coordinating compensation administration.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work Environment

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $80,348 - $117,111 per yeardepending on the candidate’s geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on otherfactors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational andprofessional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensivepackage of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
