Full Job Description
Job Description

Field Study is a digital somatic education platform and global community bringing the methodology of The Class into everyday life. The inaugural offering, a 200-hour Somatic Education Certification, combines self-paced study, movement practices, live learning, and peer connection.

The Community Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and student experience of Field Study, with a primary focus on our Somatic Education Certification cohorts.

This role manages the student lifecycle from registration through certification and alumni engagement across our curriculum, Circle platform, and live programming, while welcoming students into an expanding ecosystem of learning and community.

Partnering with the Director of Field Study, the Community Manager builds scalable systems, executes engagement strategies, and translates student feedback into continuous improvements to evolve offerings as the program grows.

This is a collaborative, hands-on role for a fast-paced environment requiring strong project management, customer experience skills, and a passion for building community.

What You'll Do

Community Management & Student Experience
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all participants throughout their lifecycle.
  • Deliver timely, thoughtful, and on-brand student support across the custom-branded app (hosted on Circle), email, and community channels.
  • Guide the student experience from onboarding through certification and alumni engagement, driving participation and long-term connection.
  • Moderate the Field Study community spaces and newsfeed, fostering an engaging online environment for thousands of members.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Field Study to execute engagement strategies that boost course completion and satisfaction.

Program Operations & Project Managemen
  • Build and maintain operational systems, including project trackers, workflows, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Own Circle administration end-to-end: platform structure, member access, courses, events, content organization, and automations for the somatic education cohorts and future spaces and trainings.
  • Coordinate the Field Study content calendar, scheduling course releases, live sessions, teacher communications, and certification milestones for overlapping cohorts.
  • Manage student communications and automated email/message journeys across Circle and Klaviyo.
  • Maintain accurate student records, enrollment rosters, and program documentation.
  • Manage cross-functional deliverables with internal teams to keep projects on schedule.

Registration & Fellowship Management
  • Partner with Marketing on launch campaigns for new cohorts and offerings, sharing student testimonials, FAQs, and enrollment insights.
  • Manage the registration inbox, guiding prospective students through enrollment with personalized communication and strategic follow-up.
  • Oversee Fellowship administration, including application tracking, selection, communication, coupon creation, and student onboarding.
  • Analyze registration barriers and recurring inquiries to help inform enrollment strategy.

Live Programming & Alumni Engagement
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling for Opening Circles, live calls, mentor groups, closing ceremonies, and alumni programming.
  • Support teachers and group facilitators with materials, meeting prep, feedback collection, and post-session follow-up.
  • Promptly upload and organize course recordings, materials, and resources.
  • Implement AI tools and automated workflows to enhance efficiency and elevate the student experience.
  • Track student progress toward certification requirements and issue completion certificates.
  • Nurture an active alumni community through ongoing events, programming, and networking opportunities.

Student Feedback & Program Development
  • Design and administer surveys to measure onboarding, course experience, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Monitor participation metrics across coursework, live sessions, and community spaces.
  • Synthesize student feedback and participation data into actionable insights and program recommendations.
  • Maintain a self-service FAQ and help center to streamline student support.
