Position SummaryThe Manager, Communications owns all internal communications across the Bishop network. This person partners with leaders company-wide to collect, prioritize, create, distribute, and measure the messages that keep our growing workforce connected to strategy, operations, and culture. It is a hands-on, high-output role for a builder - a strong writer and producer who is equally comfortable setting strategy and shipping the work. Initially an individual-contributor position, it offers the opportunity to shape and grow the internal communications function as the platform expands.
Key Responsibilities- Own Internal Communications - Serve as the central owner for all internal messaging across Bishop Lifting. Work with business leaders to collect, prioritize, create, distribute, and track communications throughout the network, maintaining a unified sender identity and a forward-looking editorial calendar.
- Communicate Across Every Channel - Leverage a wide range of channels to reach a geographically distributed workforce - including but not limited to memos, emails, newsletters, an internal social app, text messages, digital video boards, field huddles, video, intranet, and the task-management app.
- Create Compelling Content - Write clear, on-brand internal business copy and produce and edit video that informs, aligns, and motivates employees across corporate and field environments.
- Drive Engagement - Define the metrics that matter, measure reach and engagement of internal messaging, and recommend and implement ways to continuously increase it.
- Scale with AI - Leverage AI toolset(s) to scale and automate communication efforts - accelerating content creation, distribution, and measurement without sacrificing quality or brand voice.
- Build the Function - Establish the infrastructure, intake processes, and standards that allow internal communications to scale alongside the network - laying the groundwork to grow the team over time.
Required Qualifications- 5-7 years of experience in internal, corporate, or employee communications.
- Proven internal business copywriting skill - a portfolio of clear, persuasive, audience-appropriate writing.
- Hands-on video production and editing capability.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
- Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to scale and automate communications work.
- Based in the DFW or Houston area - preferred but not required.
- Able to travel 10-25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field - preferred, not required. Equivalent experience is valued over a credential.
- Experience communicating to a distributed, multi-site, or field-based workforce.
- Background in industrial distribution, services, or a private-equity-backed, acquisition-driven (roll-up) company.
- Experience standing up newsletters, intranets, digital signage, or internal social platforms from the ground up.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, Power Automate, and modern email-design tools.
