Get to Know the Opportunity:

As a Communication Consultant you will develop and manage strategic communication campaigns and tactical initiatives designed to drive positive participant outcomes and support client goals. This role partners closely with Relationship Managers, clients, and cross-functional marketing teams to create impactful communication strategies that enhance employee engagement, improve participant outcomes, and strengthen client relationships.

This role offers flexibility in work location, with a strong preference to be located near Los Angeles, as travel and onsite participation are regularly required based on role and business needs.

The Contributions You'll Make:
  • Partner directly with Relationship Managers and clients to develop and execute effective communication programs aligned with plan sponsor objectives.
  • Provide strategic communication guidance focused on improving employee engagement and participant outcomes.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication programs, share results with clients, and use insights to continuously enhance future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with content development and management teams to create campaigns that support new business initiatives, promote new assets and services, and strengthen competitive market positioning.
  • Support client satisfaction initiatives while identifying opportunities for client growth and deeper engagement.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to senior leaders, clients, and prospective clients in retention, finalist, and new business meetings.
  • Partner across marketing functions to ensure integrated communication strategies and consistent participant experiences.
  • Lead and participate in cross-market initiatives focused on improving participant communication strategies and engagement outcomes.
  • Collaborate with content development teams, consumer experience leaders, cross-segment marketing leaders, and specialized marketing teams to execute strategic priorities.
  • Role model Voya's culture by fostering collaboration, inclusion, innovation, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Manage client-assigned budgets, including forecasting, estimating, invoicing, and reporting, when applicable.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in a corporate marketing, communications, consulting, or agency environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading strategic marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders and clients.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.


Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Retirement-Services background is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Government retirement plans is preferred.
  • Advanced professional degree preferred.
  • Team leadership or people management experience.
  • Experience working across complex organizations and collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate program performance and make data-driven recommendations.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
