Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required; ability to obtain TS/SCI for continued employment.
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or communications; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in communications or public affairs, with at least two years specialized experience.
• Ability to translate strategic communications priorities into accessible public affairs materials.
• Familiarity with operational-level strategic communications coordination.
• Knowledge of the AP style guide is essential.
• Understanding of the Department of War's Public Affairs process and media engagement.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and coordinate communication strategies within a diverse team of analysts and designers.
• Ensure visual and digital content aligns with communication goals of OUSW(R&E).
• Edit and create weekly activity reports for amplification to senior leadership.
• Collaborate to produce high-quality communication materials across various platforms.
• Deliver consistent and impactful messaging while meeting deadlines.
• Analyze communications challenges and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Track media activities and create daily media summaries.
