A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Commodity Manager (f/m/d) - Construction, you become an essential contributor to Siemens Energy's mission of energizing society and accelerating the energy transition. Your work directly supports the delivery of large-scale Grid Technology projects by partnering with the contractors and suppliers who bring our infrastructure to life.

From sourcing civil and installation services to securing materials like steel and structural components, you help ensure our projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and on time. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams, making procurement a true value driver for the business.

How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
  • Serve as the primary procurement interface for your assigned construction scope, building strong, trust-based relationships with subcontractors and internal partners.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support the construction and installation of advanced technologies such as FACTS and HVDC - key systems enabling a more resilient and sustainable energy grid.
  • Lead commercial evaluations and negotiations, working hand-in-hand with technical experts to align on requirements and secure competitive, high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to cost and efficiency improvements, bringing your ideas, curiosity, and fresh perspective to continuously enhance how we manage our supply base.
  • Collaborate across functions, including Procurement, Civil Engineering, Erection & Commissioning, Project Management, to ensure seamless execution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leverage digital procurement tools to manage supplier data, run RFPs, issue purchase orders, and support invoice processing with accuracy and transparency.
What You Bring (requirements)
  • A Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, or equivalent, plus 2 years project experience.
  • Negotiation experience and exposure to project-based environments.
  • The ability to succeed in a global, matrixed organization, working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A team-oriented, customer-focused mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A positive, solution-driven approach - you stay curious, adaptable, and ready to tackle challenges in complex project settings.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
