Full Job Description
Responsible for leveraging the assigned university's spend by establishing best value contracts for the enterprise. Duties include: researching suppliers across the marketplace, defining specifications, sourcing and spend management strategies; soliciting, evaluating and awarding bids for goods and services that leverage enterprise-wide spend; works in conjunction with Sourcing counterparts and analysts to conduct front-end strategic assessment of business best-value service and opportunities, proposal preparation, negotiation and award of contracts; establishes, tracks and monitors supplier performance standards; mentors staff on strategic purchasing processes and buying techniques; may provide functional and/or administrative supervision to other purchasing team members; identifies and makes suggestions for cost savings and process improvement projects using internal and/or external cross- functional teams to benefit the University enterprise-wide; champions strategic sourcing initiatives and the coordination of expertise to drive the entire procure to pay process; responsible for taking available data and analyzing for "ideal" state outcomes; collaborates with internal customers and suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs; addresses quality, delivery, service and price; reports annual savings and avoidance totals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, supply chain management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Six (6) years of sourcing experience; ability to successfully lead projects and negotiate with cross functional teams and suppliers; strong analytical and independent decision making skills; ability to multi-task; self-starter; think proactively; demonstrated experience creating best value bids for a variety of products/services; experience performing data analysis; excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially strong Excel skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in a Sourcing position for a large and complex organization; experience with e-procurement, Ariba, WorkDay, or similar Sourcing software, tools and technology (i.e., electronic bidding, reverse auctions etc.); experience performing RFXs; business writing skills; ability to drive results; creative problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $103,000 to $134,500 per year.
