Based in our Elyria, OH office, as the Commodity Manager you will lead the development and execution of commodity strategies across multiple locations, working collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supply chain performance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commodity and supplier strategies that support long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement cost optimization initiatives, including value analysis and value engineering approaches.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop diverse and high-performing sources of supply across domestic and global markets.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract development to achieve balanced outcomes in cost, quality, and service.
  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supply risks to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Guide supplier performance management, including continuous improvement plans and relationship development.
  • Manage commodity data, spend analytics, and performance metrics to improve visibility and outcomes.
  • Support new product development initiatives by collaborating with engineering, operations, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Facilitate sourcing events such as competitive bidding and reverse auctions where appropriate.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that strengthen supply chain resilience and efficiency.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or another related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or a related field within a multi-site or global environment
  • Tech savvy, with emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE/SAP/QlikView, Portal, Insight, IBEE, and Team Center.
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and principles including experience with low-cost country sourcing, auctions, VA/VE, and other leveraging tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing or commodity strategies
  • Experience analyzing data, market trends, and supplier performance to guide decisions
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives
  • Familiarity with digital tools and systems used for procurement, analytics, or enterprise resource planning
  • Ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively
  • Periodic overnight travel of 10%-20% will be required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
