Job Description Summary
Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for functionally developing, managing and delivering the means and methods of the commissioning execution strategy, schedule and cost. Ensure the project milestone are achieved on time and within the budget cost.
  • Is ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with the site EHS plan requirements and specifically defined safe systems of work
  • To coordinate contractual tests with customer, adequacy with contract, turnover to customer without defects, follow-up of punch list items
  • Manage, assess, supervise, support and promote the commissioning and other personnel assigned to him/her
  • Ensure quality compliance for your scope of work by delegating responsibilities within your team, complying with all inspections, tests and witness points as contractually required and obtaining / producing quality records.
  • Ensure that commissioning is performed according to the specifications, engineering and commissioning documents , taking into account the safety instructions, environmental protection measures and local regulations
  • Accept the turnover of systems from construction to commissioning and execute the turnover from commissioning to the customer in accordance with current procedure/work instruction and the contract
  • Manage, perform, coordinate and monitor the commissioning of systems specified within the scope of work according to time schedule and contract and by arrangement with the Site Manager, project management and customer. Experience in project risk review and follow-up for mitigation planning and execution
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • To identify and analyze technical problems, watch for defects and find solutions, ask for adequate technical support, report problems.

Required Qualifications

  • Commissioning experience and knowledge on Combine Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) and Aeroderivative Power Plants.

  • Having led a team of supervisors and technicians in executing the pre-commissioning and commissioning.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving capability.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Commissioning)

  • Willing to travel worldwide for long term assignments

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Has already hold Commissioning Manager role for CCPP or other Power Plants type.
  • Strong team player and motivator with influence and power of persuasion
  • Preferred location Houston, Atlanta or Schenectady but willing to consider other qualified candidates elsewhere as long as they are willing to travel as needed.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidates experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
