Commissioning Executive II

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Commissioning Executive II that will be responsible for providing advanced project leadership within the commissioning scope, ensuring customer experience, financial performance, schedule, technical accuracy, risk management, and overall project execution, while driving smooth transitions from design to operations for complex projects, providing guidance on multiple projects, and assisting site management in monitoring subcontractor and third-party work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct key customer service visits throughout the project, from pre-construction client surveys to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met and issues are resolved
  • Preview proposals before submission and participate in the RFP process
  • Act as primary customer contact for all assigned projects
  • Maintain customer relationships to be aware of current and future projects
  • Support business development initiatives in establishing and building on client relationships
  • Oversight and accountability for large projects
  • Establish and implement project objectives and procedures
  • Maintain commissioning budgets, costs, and pricing, ensuring delivery of a profitable project
  • Develop team members for growth within their current roles, future career consideration, and training opportunities
  • Provide high-level management of quality, risk, safety, technical excellence, and compliance for the project and team members
  • Effectively work and build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, embody the LeadBLU principles, and effectively manage performance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 15+ years of equivalent field experience
  • Minimum seventeen years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
  • Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
  • Extensive knowledge of how design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and turnover align within the project delivery process
  • Mastery of the commissioning process, L0-L5, and strong understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Proven problem-solving skills with risk assessment and safety integration within commissioning activities
  • Positive and professional attitude with excellent customer service skills and ability to coach and lead teams
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this role is $194,500 - $291,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
