Job Description

The Commercial & Technical Savings. Analyst supports the identification, validation, and tracking of Commercial and Technical savings initiatives across Purchasing Operations and Engineering. This role provides financial rigor and analytical discipline to savings ideation, business case development, forecast validation, and P&L impact assessment.

The analyst partners closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance stakeholders to ensure savings initiatives are well-substantiated, consistently tracked, and accurately reflected across systems. During initial phases, the role also plays a critical part in reconciling data between Wave, MCM, and TCR systems to ensure alignment, data integrity, and governance. This role is positioned within the Purchasing Finance organization and directly supports achievement of VCP and Purchasing F0 targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Purchasing Operations and Engineering teams to identify Commercial and Technical savings opportunities across the B1 workstream
  • Develop and maintain robust financial business cases, including assumptions, risks, and sensitivities
  • Validate VCP forecasts and ensure alignment with expected P&L impact
  • Track performance of savings initiatives versus approved targets, identifying gaps, risks, and mitigation actions
  • Reconcile Wave data with MCM and TCR systems to ensure consistency, completeness, and data integrity
  • Analyze cross-system discrepancies and collaborate with functional owners to drive timely resolution
  • Support periodic savings reviews through preparation of financial summaries, dashboards, and management reporting
  • Ensure adherence to savings governance, documentation standards, and approval requirements
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance leadership to support prioritization and decision-making
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of savings tracking processes, templates, and reporting tools


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing finance, FP&A, cost management, or a comparable analytical role
  • Solid understanding of commercial and technical savings concepts and cost-reduction methodologies
  • Proven ability to develop, validate, and defend financial business cases
  • Strong analytical capability, including interpretation of complex data across multiple systems
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy, governance, and process discipline
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner across Finance, Purchasing, and Engineering
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial insights to senior and non-finance audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed team environment
  • Self-directed and adaptable, able to prioritize competing demands and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with financial databases and reporting tools is a plus
  • Experience in automotive and/or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
