Job DescriptionThe
Commercial Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of commercial
customer contracts in support of JHS's CMO business. This role ensures that commercial agreements
appropriately reflect business intent, operational feasibility, financial objectives, and compliance requirements
while enabling timely deal execution.
The position serves as a key commercial governance role, partnering closely with Business Development,
Program Management, Finance, Quality, Operations, and Legal to structure, negotiate, and execute customer contracts that support sterile fill-finish and related manufacturing services.
• Own the contract lifecycle for assigned commercial accounts, from contract intake through execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including o Master Service / Master Supply Agreements (MSAs) o Statements of Work (SOWs) o Change Orders and Amendments o Pricing schedules, payment terms, and escalation clauses o Confidentiality Agreements and related addenda.
• Ensure contract terms align with approved commercial strategy, pricing models, margin expectations, operational capabilities, and risk tolerance.
• Identify, document, and escalate contractual risks and deviations; propose mitigation strategies and fallback language in alignment with JHS playbooks.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews with Legal, Finance, Quality, Program Management, and Operations to ensure contract accuracy, executability, and compliance.
• Support deal execution efficiency by maintaining standardized templates, clause libraries, and contracting playbooks.
• Administer executed agreements, including interpretation of terms, change management, extension of scope or term, and dispute support.
• Maintain accurate contract records within CLM/CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), including key metadata, obligations, and renewal milestones.
• Support audits, internal governance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to commercial contracting processes.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, Finance, Supply Chain or related discipline required.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in contract management, commercial operations, legal operations, or procurement. Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or FDA-regulated industry required.
- CDMO/CMO experience; familiarity with GMP/GxP environments and Quality Agreement / customer contract interfaces.
- Contract drafting and negotiation; understanding of MSAs, SOWs, change control, pricing models, indemnities, limitations of liability; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CLM/CRM required.
- Contract Management certification (e.g., WorldCC/IACCM, NCMA) preferred.
