Full Job Description
We are rapidly expanding our fiber network and are looking for a highly skilled leader to oversee our construction and project management efforts in the Memphis, Tennessee market.

The Commercial Project Manager partners closely with Outside Plant Design and Service Delivery Coordinators to successfully deliver fiber-optic services to new and existing customers. This role oversees the end-to-end delivery of data solutions, applying a solid understanding of network design and standard construction practices.

The Commercial Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget by providing clear, consistent updates to key stakeholders. This position also leads the coordination of technical activities, working cross-functionally with internal teams, external contractors, vendors, and government agencies. All work is performed in alignment with industry standards, company policies, and established procedures.

Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Delivery: Manage multiple construction projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all work is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and key stakeholders to define project goals, deliverables, timelines, milestones, and compliance requirements, maintaining alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify potential risks and site-level challenges, developing contingency plans and resolving issues through effective troubleshooting, negotiation, and mediation with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide clear, consistent project updates through progress reports and presentations to stakeholders and company leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Project Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate outcomes, document lessons learned, and develop recommendations to improve future project performance.
Vendor & Documentation Management: Collect and validate data from contractors and consultants, maintaining accurate records of completed work, issues encountered, and resolutions achieved.
Technical Review & Closeout: Review as-built documentation to confirm final service delivery details, including materials used, fiber routing, and customer-site termination.
Project Management Tools & Best Practices: Leverage project management software and standardized processes to drive efficiency, quality, and consistency across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Requirements
Technical & Construction Knowledge: Working knowledge of fiber-optic network architectures, including underground and aerial construction methods, permitting requirements, industry-standard designs, and basic construction practices. Ability to read and interpret utility maps, plant design drawings, as-built documentation, and civil engineering plans.
Regulatory, Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with materials, equipment, utility locating procedures, required safety practices, and applicable local and state regulations governing underground utilities, equipment operation, and vehicle use.
Equipment & Field Operations: Ability to operate and maintain small- to medium-sized equipment and company vehicles; complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.
Tools & Systems: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and familiar with GIS/ArcGIS systems.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and the general public to exchange information and receive work direction.
Professional Skills: Well-organized, dependable, and detail-oriented with demonstrated leadership ability, a positive attitude, and strong listening skills.
