Commercial Project Manager

Location: Marietta, OH (Onsite)

Position Overview

A manufacturing-focused organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to oversee large-scale programs involving engineered electrical and power distribution equipment. This role is responsible for managing projects through all phases of execution, from post-award transition and engineering coordination through production, testing, shipment, and final customer acceptance.

The position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and quality teams to ensure projects remain aligned with schedule, scope, and customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Execution
  • Manage assigned programs from contract release through final delivery and customer acceptance
  • Coordinate project scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables across multiple departments
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and establish alignment between engineering, production, and commercial teams
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, action items, and execution timelines
  • Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to maintain progress
Contract & Scope Coordination
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, and technical specifications for completeness and accuracy
  • Support scope clarification efforts and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure consistency between contractual requirements, engineering outputs, and manufacturing deliverables
  • Assist with billing milestones, customer documentation, and project acceptance requirements
Cross-Functional Project Coordination
  • Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, quality, and commercial teams
  • Maintain visibility across all project phases to support efficient execution
  • Ensure configuration changes and revisions are properly documented and communicated
  • Escalate critical issues when necessary while maintaining project momentum and schedule alignment
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
  • Lead recurring project review meetings with customers and external stakeholders
  • Communicate schedules, production updates, testing status, and delivery timelines
  • Manage customer expectations while maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Represent assigned programs during technical reviews, planning discussions, and execution meetings


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in program management or project management within manufacturing, electrical systems, or infrastructure-related industries
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase, cross-functional projects
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing-driven project execution and coordination
  • Experience interfacing with customers, contractors, EPC firms, or external stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret contracts, schedules, technical drawings, and project documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working onsite within a manufacturing or industrial environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting modular or integrated electrical system projects
  • Exposure to data center, mission-critical, or infrastructure-related programs
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms and project management tools such as Smartsheet or similar systems
  • Knowledge of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes and large-equipment logistics coordination
