Position OverviewThe Commercial Project Manager (CPM)/ Project Controller will be based in Montreal and holds end-to-end commercial, financial, and contractual accountability for assigned Technical Support Spare Supply Agreement (TSSSA) contracts. The CPM is responsible for Onshore Project P&L, revenue recognition, cost control, risk and opportunity management in full compliance with PM[redacted], Siemens Regulations.. The CPM is a core team member and acts as the commercial counterpart to the Project Director/Manager and as a commercial interface to the customer.
What will you do?Commercial & Financial Management
- Assume full commercial responsibility for assigned TSSSA Onshore projects in accordance with PM[redacted], including P&L, cash flow, and financial performance.
- Strong control over EAC (estimated at completion), lead revenue recognition ( PoC), margin evaluation, and long-term cash-flow forecasting., Perform monthly forecasting ensuring forecast accuracy, transparency, and timely escalation of deviations.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities, including availability and reliability related risks and deductions, price escalation adjustments, obsolescence, and supply-chain exposure.
- Support claims, counterclaims, and dispute management in collaboration with Legal and Project Manager.
- Collaborate closely with Project Directors/Managers, Service Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Plant Controlling to optimize availability, lifecycle cost, and project profitability.
- Govern procurement-related commercial topics (spares, repairs, overhauls), ensuring contract compliance and budget adherence.
Governance, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to PM[redacted], Siemens Commercial Regulations, Business Conduct Guidelines, and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation quality, traceability, and control effectiveness.
What will you need to succeed?- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, business , or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or financial project management within complex, asset-intensive environments.
- 3+ years managing long-term service or availability-based contracts with P&L accountability.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, forecasting, and cash management.
- Demonstrated experience in customer negotiations, variation management
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Willingness to travel (~15%).
The successful candidate for this position must be fluent in English (oral and written) to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role.
- The role requires interaction with English and/or French speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or abroad.
- The role requires regular interaction with Siemens colleagues based in Quebec, Ontario, nationally and internationally.
