The Opportunity

As a Commercial Operations Specialist, you will play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of power grid and grid integration opportunities by coordinating the end-to-end tender process. Working closely with sales, finance, legal, product, solutions, and support teams, you will help develop high-quality, compliant, and commercially sound bids that align with customer requirements and business goals. In this role, you will contribute to bid qualification activities, proposal development, pricing and cost modeling, risk management, commercial reviews, and tender approval processes. Your work will help ensure that customers receive well-developed solutions while supporting sound commercial outcomes and risk management practices. You will gain exposure to a broad range of stakeholders across a global organization, develop expertise in commercial operations and tendering processes, and help drive successful project and business outcomes within the evolving power industry.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Coordinate the end-to-end tender process from bid qualification through proposal submission and approval.
  • Collaborate with Sales to define business setup strategies and proposed delivery approaches.
  • Gather and coordinate proposal content from stakeholders across sales, finance, legal, product, solutions, and support functions.
  • Develop bid documentation and proposal materials that align with branding guidelines and customer requirements.
  • Support commercial reviews by evaluating contract implications, commercial considerations, and associated risks.
  • Coordinate risk review activities and maintain risk tracking throughout the bid process.
  • Prepare price estimates and full cost models to support margin objectives, governance requirements, and customer proposals.
  • Support internal governance, approval processes, and administrative procedures while helping teams meet bid deadlines.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with experience in software-related tenders.
  • Excellent English grammar and writing skills, including the ability to draft, review, and edit documents to a high standard.
  • High proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Office 365, and related productivity tools.
  • Sound commercial understanding and risk management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, organization, coordination, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Availability for communications and meetings across multiple time zones as part of a global team.

Salary Range: $ 75,200.00 - 94,000.00 USD annually + 7% annual bonus
