The primary role of the Commercial Operations Manager is to manage several categories within raw materials and packaging that are needed at two sites within NA. You'll manage regional execution of new product launches, support sites in material management, manage stakeholders within site leadership and regional market leadership, and be a key piece in supplier relationship management.

The Commercial Operations team is the key interface across our suppliers, Commercial Sourcing & SQA, and key stakeholders such as Planning, Supply, R&D, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing and Activity Management. This leader is responsible for inbound supply chain strategy development, supplier performance improvement, contract sufficiency & proactive risk management, and value leadership deployment of the categories. Your job will be ensuring the seamless execution of innovation, working capital management and Invoice resolution activities.

What are we looking for?

Minimum:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in business or science related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in supply related role; Direct material experience
  • Experience working in diverse teams and matrix organizations
  • Proficient in MS Office, Power BI, and SAP MRP systems
  • Strong understanding of E2E supply chains
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills for financial assessments and issue identification, along with flexible thinking
  • A passion for developing strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data


Preferred:
  • Rice and Paper category experience


What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Direct oversight of categories critical for Mars Food CSL performance including, but not limited to, rice and paper
  • Develop and ensure execution of strategies that improve the agility and reliability of the supply base in support of new product launches and line extensions.
  • Measure and drive improvements to Supplier OTIF (On Time In Full) through scorecards and root corrective actions
  • Continuous improvement of suppliers' performance and relationship management
  • Partner with sourcing associates to assure contract accuracy, adherence, and reporting
  • Ensure deployment of Strategic Sourcing Strategy as well as Productivity projects in 0-18 month horizon
  • Drive and engage across functional partnership through appropriate feeder forums for S&OP+ horizon
  • Enable our Productivity ambition through communicating critical supplier transitions
  • Engage and collaborate with the other functions (Planning, Sourcing, and Quality are the highest priority) and other segment Commercial Operations Teams (Pet, Snacking, RC)
  • Ensure the demand of required material volumes for all regional sites are secured and accounted for
  • Oversee Mars' on-time supplier payments performance across relevant categories

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 108,160.00 - USD 148,720.00
