Full Job Description
The Commercial Manager - Accelerated Growth is Americhem's North American lead hunter for markets and applications where the company has meaningful capability but limited current penetration. The role works with their team to identify attractive white space, evaluate the competitive landscape and market-growth potential, open targeted customer and channel relationships, and convert customer problems into qualified, repeatable growth platforms. This leader builds net-new revenue while partnering across Product Management, Technology, Operations, Finance, and the broader Commercial organization to establish a durable right to win.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a market-back view of North American white-space opportunities, using market size, growth rate, margin potential, technical fit, qualification requirements, competitive intensity, and Americhem's right to win to prioritize action.
  • Explore and develop existing adjacency opportunities as well as emerging spaces, with initial emphasis on electronics, wire and cable, consumer durables, energy, infrastructure, defense, and specialty industrial applications.
  • Assess competitors, material suppliers, processors, OEMs, and channel partners to identify unmet customer needs, share-of-wallet opportunities, displacements, and gaps Americhem can address through color, additive, compound, and custom-solution capabilities.
  • Build a team capable of originating and advancing qualified opportunities: establish access, define the application and decision process, validate technical and economic value, create a close plan, and drive opportunities through commercial and technical qualification.
  • Develop repeatable growth platforms rather than isolated wins-document segment thesis, target accounts, value proposition, technical requirements, channel strategy, commercialization path, and replicability across adjacent customers or applications.
  • Lead disciplined pipeline management for assigned opportunities, including opportunity quality, stage progression, timing, value, probability, resource needs, risks, and conversion barriers; maintain accurate CRM data and forecasts.
  • Partner with Product Management and Technology to translate market signals into product priorities, application-development work, differentiated value propositions, and launch plans.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, and Marketing to ensure feasibility, supply readiness, pricing and margin discipline, customer responsiveness, and scalable execution.
  • Create executive-ready growth recommendations and regular scorecard reviews covering opportunity portfolio, competitive insights, platform economics, required investments, and decisions needed to accelerate conversion.
  • Work constructively with vertical commercial leaders so that opportunities are developed without disrupting ownership of established accounts and are transitioned cleanly when a platform becomes a sustainable core business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, with 7+ years of progressive sales/commercial experience, including at least 3 years of people leadership.
  • Proven success leading teams, developing go-to-market strategies, managing strategic customer relationships, and driving growth in a B2B manufacturing, specialty materials, or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and commercialize new business, supported by strong North American relationships across processors, OEMs, suppliers, distributors, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic and cross-functional leadership skills, including market and competitive analysis, value selling, negotiation, pipeline management, and collaboration across Product Management, Technology, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service.

Desired Qualities/Attributes

  • Strategic mindset with a strong commercial orientation.
  • Collaborative and results-focused team leader.
  • Confident communicator and trusted relationship builder.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and performance driven.
  • Able to inspire, influence, and drive change.
