What You’ll Be Doing

The Commercial Kitchen Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen refrigeration systems. Under the guidance of the Area Service Manager (ASM), the technician will handle routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs, ensuring systems meet industry standards.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach. Commercial Refrigeration Technicians are expected to prioritize safety, satisfaction, and client comfort while promoting the company’s values of quality service and integrity.

Min CompensationUSD $30.00/Hr. Max CompensationUSD $50.00/Hr. Responsibilities
  • Provides the highest level of customer service, technical ability, and quality to our customers
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs most standard refrigeration units for commercial customers such as reach-in coolers and freezers, beverage dispensers, walk-in coolers and freezers and rack units
  • Diagnoses and repairs electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of the commercial refrigeration systems
  • Travels to job sites in assigned service area and works with assigned Dispatcher(s) to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers
  • Available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to address emergency service needs for customer
  • Maintains good working order of company vehicle, including cleaning and organizing, and washing vehicle a minimum of once per week
  • Maintains proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, type of fuel, and pictures as necessary
  • Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through company-provided cell phone and/or iPad applications
  • Diagnoses a variety of service issues, obtains necessary replacement parts, calibrates systems according to manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicates the issue(s) and recommended solutions to the client
  • Participates in company-provided training opportunities and adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Identifies and reports potential opportunities for additional business to management
  • Follow all environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of refrigerants, in accordance with EPA guidelines
  • Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in reading schematics, work plans, and using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principles
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly dependable and consistent in delivering quality work
  • Enthusiastic, with strong integrity, craftsmanship, and a positive attitude
  • Basic computer skills for communication and documentation using iPads and/or cell phones
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to travel to assigned client sites
  • Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service consistently
What We’re Looking For
