Full Job Description
Willdan is seeking a motivated individual to provide commercial HVAC packaged unit sales and technical expertise support for the Energy Efficiency Programs that Willdan implements for local utilities. Our programs support customers from opportunity development through implementation and offer rebates for several packaged HVAC unit "measures" (VFDs, motor replacements, full RTU replacement, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • On-site HVAC evaluations to confirm eligibility of existing building conditions and existing equipment to be improved and/or replaced (e.g., evaluating if an RTU has a functioning economizer.
  • Find and secure new sales leads while building relationships with commercial mechanical contractors, engineers, and building owners.
  • Support efforts to educate customers on products and equipment approved for the Program.
  • Partner with engineers, contractors, and end users to understand project requirements and recommend appropriate products and technologies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service (internally and externally) with prompt follow-up and quick turnaround times.

Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC technical or HVAC sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Willing to travel throughout Southern California (Regions throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura, Palm Springs, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties).
  • Either certified, or willing to become certified, under the OSHA Fall Protection Certificate program as ladder climbing for audits and inspections will be required.
  • Strong customer service mindset and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Strong desire to engage with customers in an outside sales environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities and computer proficiency.
  • Professional, polished presentation skills.
  • Comfort with new technologies and a business-minded approach to problem solving.
  • Persistent, self-motivated, and results-oriented work style.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while taking initiative independently.
