Commercial Construction Project Manager

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

In this project management position, you play an essential role in overseeing every aspect of each project, including the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure. You work hard to maintain a good relationship with your client throughout the duration of the project by ensuring that timeframe targets and budgets are met. To keep projects running smoothly and maximize profitability, you manage the production, change management, scheduling, and procurement of all cost of goods for the project. You assist and support subcontractors with ProCore requisitions as well as ensure that all subcontractors and vendors are paid in full.

In addition, you maintain scorecards for profitability, on time delivery, and customer expectations with escalation procedures before client or vendor issues become a significant problem. You also oversee all monthly billing projections as well as provide project status reports and profit projections in conjunction with ownership and accounting. On a quarterly and annual basis, you summarize and document any impacts on project financials, gross profit, and client satisfaction. You frequently visit the job sites under your management to check for quality, efficiency, and safety control. Anytime a problem arises, you promptly seek resolutions in a healthy and professional manner.

Through daily communication with your superintendent, you keep clients informed of your project's status as well as coordinate with clients, subs, and co-workers to keep them up to date on all project activities. Once a project is substantial complete, you close out project and forecast any warranty issues if they arrise. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
  • 5+ years of experience working in a large-scale commercial construction environment
  • Ability to maintain solid relationships with others and take accountability for personal actions
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Competent technical skills for industry standard software platforms

Experience with EOS Worldwide principals is preferred. Having cutting-edge technical skills would be a plus but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
