Position OverviewThe Commercial Claims Trainer is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the VP, Claims Operations. This role develops and delivers training, resources, and operational support to promote consistent claims practices, employee development, and service excellence across the commercial claims organization. The Commercial Claims Trainer serves as a subject matter expert on commercial claims processes and systems, partners with stakeholders to support operational improvement initiatives, and helps ensure employees have the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to perform effectively and consistently.
Location EligibilityPreference will be given to candidates who are able to work from our Sandy, Utah headquarters. Qualified applicants residing elsewhere within the continental United States are also encouraged to apply. Candidates who are not local should expect periodic travel to Sandy for in-person team collaboration.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related field or AIC designation.
- Minimum of five years of commercial claims adjusting experience, with demonstrated expertise in commercial auto, liability, or property claims. Experience across multiple lines is a plus.
- Previous training or mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial auto, commercial property, and/or commercial liability claims, applicable case law, insurance industry practices, third-party recovery, and claims handling principles.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, critical-thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
Essential Job Functions- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive online commercial claims guidelines, policies, manuals, and training materials.
- Develop and review procedures to ensure consistent application across the Commercial Claims department.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver customized training curricula for new employees, provide ongoing skills development for incumbent staff, and facilitate continuing education opportunities.
- Ensure training content aligns with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices in collaboration with the Compliance Strategy Office.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new employees in the Commercial Claims department and assist with claims training for employees in other departments.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to address knowledge gaps and support employee development.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects that impact claims operations or training initiatives.
- Support other departments in delivering on WCF's mission of excellence by sharing claims knowledge and expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to systems, workflows, processes, and procedures that increase efficiency and productivity.
- Identify problems and collaborate on the design, implementation, and training of effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, training tools, and resource materials.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for claims systems, processes, and procedures.

The expected salary range for this position is 80,000.00-99,900.00. This salary range depends on experience, education, and location for this specific position.
